Founder's Bio: Blake McDonell is an Executive with 30 years of operating experience having spent the majority of his career conducting professional advisory for mid-market organizations across a broad spectrum of industries. Blake possesses a holistic knowledge of all facets of business with a strong business development, operations and financial background. He has run high performance teams and served as a trusted advisor to CEO’s and senior executive leaders, helping them to convert strategy into execution. A graduate of the University of Guelph, he is well respected for his interpersonal skills, integrity, and leadership.

Service Overview

Bedford is a tactical resource used by organizations to accelerate initiatives that improve operational efficiency and create more predictability for executive leaders to generate measurable & sustainable performance improvement. Our clients use us in a few different ways:


  1. Fractional COO: organizations that have a vacant senior operations position or are of a size that doesn't support a full-time COO, will employ Bedford on a fractional basis to help the organization in achieving its operational objectives
  2. Study: organizations that have a very specific 'pain point' that they would like to analyze, engage Bedford to conduct a 'Study' to understand the underlying issues and provide direction with respect to the solution(s) for their internal leaders to implement
  3. Implementation Program: organizations that require support to accelerate change, engage Bedford for an implementation program - our programs are tailored to the specific client need and are broken down into 3 phases:
    • Due diligence: detailed analysis of processes, systems and management practices
    • Solution Development: developing tailored solutions to improve performance in one or more of the following areas: working capital, sales, expenses, quality, service
    • Implementation: we support management through the implementation of identified change initiatives and measure the improvement in one or more key performance indicators (KPIs)
